Blue Bird Hill Farm ~ Rustic Cedar Tourist Cabin ~

Step back into a slower, graceful time in beautiful Brown County, Indiana. Spend your time enjoying the rustic barn style cabin, with a 14’ by 30’ loft, a full front-porch and a large screened in room addition. Enjoy the spacious bathroom with antique claw foot tub for a restful bubble bath, or move to the hot tub on the secluded deck and enjoy the Milky Way unbleached by human lights. This tourist home has all the amenities, including a 36’ TV, with satellite dish on the main level and a foosball table in the loft, a full kitchen, just not the hectic pace. Antiques are featured throughout. In the cool evenings in the fall, a small fire in the Vermont Casting woodstove (maintained by the proprietor) will suffice, but if the temperature drops or rises, a modern furnace and air-conditioner can be had.

Local Attractions:

You won’t miss the crescendo of evening sounds with our local “peepers” (Small tree frogs) and bullfrogs. The air will be scented with wild honeysuckle, so heavy in the spring it is intoxicating. Blooms, like popcorn will drop from the persimmon trees, our road’s namesake, and in the fall, sweet orange fruit will catapult to the ground. Wild critters, raccoon, possum, deer and occasional fox, coyote and wild turkey venture into the pasture for a drink at the pond. This shared by our two horses Gus and Sugar, who will keep a constant vigil over our guests, but should be left alone. Nature’s light, fireflies make the nights magical.
